A Simple Guide to GameMusicWorld.Net

GameMusicWorld? What's that?

GameMusicWorld is a nonprofit website dedicated to the great music of the video game world. Here, at GMW, we use a program called "Finale" to arrange our favorite video game songs for just about any instrument you can think of. At this point in time, GMW hosts the following types of arrangements:

  • Piano/Keyboard Arrangements
  • Guitar Arrangements
  • String Instrument Arrangements
  • Woodwind Arrangements
  • Brass Arrangements
  • Ensemble Arrangements
  • Orchestral Arrangements

How do I download the sheet music?

Simply click the "download" button next to the song you want.
~If you choose to save the folder, we suggest you save it to your desktop for easy access.
~If you choose to open the folder, all the files will appear, and you can choose which ones you want to save.

What's all this stuff that I downloaded?

Each time you download from GameMusicWorld, the following files will be present.

  • An MUS File
~This is an interactive file used by Finale Notepad. With this, you can edit a sheet to how you want, and listen to it as it shows you which notes are played.

  • A Midi File
~This is simply to listen to. You could also use it for various other processes.

  • A PDF File
~This is for people who just want to print the sheets and play.

What's a chatroom?

The Chatroom is a place where the members of GameMusicWorld come to enjoy a live chat session with other members via IRC internet chat.

How can I help GameMusicWorld?

You can do many things to help! By joining the forums, you can submit your own arrangements or MIDIs. By using the chatroom, you can directly get involved by interacting with other members. Who knows... You just might make a new friend! And, of course, recommending GMW to anyone who has an interest in video game music would be a wonderful way to commute!
